Roskilde is home to many culturally interesting sights such as the cathedral, called the créme de la créme of Danish cathedrals. It was originally built in 1170, but has since then been renovated more times than fingers can count, which grants the construction a beautiful display of 800 years worth of Danish architecture. Roskilde is also home to a new rock museum named after the Norse Mythology’s version of doomsday,  Ragnarok. Roskilde additionally has many small locally owned cafes and restaurants worth a visit when you visit or settle there. Many of them are conveniently located in the centre of the city. You can profitably take a stroll through the stunning city centre surrounded by buildings constructed over 100 years ago, mixed with modern architecture, and end up in one of the eateries for a coffee, lunch etc. The public transport of Roskilde is unproblematic and reliable, and via. the direct railway connection to Copenhagen you can reach the inner city in only 40 minutes.
